I got to do this after volunteering myself on the deviantArt forums to a guy looking for a logo for his team's new game mod, Freelancer: Expanded Universe.
Between us we decided on this logo, with a planet in eclipse placed centrally between 'Expanded' and 'Universe' (as the emphasis is on the name of the mod, rather than the original game). It has a timelessly space-themed look, without being fussy or overcomplicated.
